Volleyball Recap: Redfield Comes Up Short

If Redfield was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Milbank on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pheasants lost 3-0 to the Northwestern Area Wildcats on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Pheasants in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost nine in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-21, 25-19.

Charli Jungwirth paced Redfield's offense, picking up seven kills. Jungwirth got some help from Hayden Gall and her 11 assists. Finally, Gall was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Ella Boekelheide had an outrageously good game for Northwestern Area as she had 31 assists and 12 digs. That's the most digs Boekelheide has posted over her last eight matches.

Redfield's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Northwestern Area, the victory (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 17-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Redfield will challenge Hamlin at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Northwestern Area, they will face off against Aberdeen Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
