Basketball Game Preview: Hunt Warriors vs. Fike Demons

Having just played yesterday, the Hunt Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Fike Demons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Hunt is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 59 points on Friday, they were much more limited against C.B. Aycock on Thursday. They took a blow against the Golden Falcons, falling 53-23. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 316th, while the Golden Falcons are ranked 114th).

Meanwhile, Fike put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Southern Wayne, posting a 77-24 victory. The Demons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 games by 26 points or more this season.

Fike's win came from a few key players Hunt will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jamaria Freeman, who posted 26 points. The match was her 16th in a row with at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jewel Brewington, who put up 21 points.

Fike pushed their record up to 21-0 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 36.2 points. As for Hunt, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-12.

Hunt was taken down by Fike 68-31 in their previous meeting back in January. Can Hunt avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
