Softball Recap: Menchville Takes a Loss

If Menchville was riding high fresh off their 14-3 takedown of Woodside on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Monarchs lost 14-1 to the Hickory Hawks on Friday. The Monarchs have struggled against the Hawks recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Menchville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bailey Tilley (2027), who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Menchville's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Hickory, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-1.

Looking ahead, Menchville is taking a road trip to square off against Hampton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hickory, they will welcome Lakeland at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
