Recap: Calvert Senecas vs. New Riegel Blue Jackets
The Calvert Senecas had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against New Riegel and snuck past 54-52. That's another feather in the cap for Calvert, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Calvert got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Caden Otterbacher out in front who scored 19 points along with four steals. It was the first time this season that Otterbacher scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Wolph, who scored 19 points.
Calvert has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for New Riegel, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-5.
Calvert will be playing at home against Danbury at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Calvert's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Danbury has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. As for New Riegel, they will square off against Old Fort at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
