Baseball Game Preview: Port Charlotte Pirates vs. Bishop Verot Vikings

The Port Charlotte Pirates will square off against the Bishop Verot Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Saturday, Port Charlotte didn't have quite enough to beat Charlotte and fell 4-3.

Meanwhile, Bishop Verot entered their tilt with Barron Collier on Friday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Cougars a 4-0 shutout.

Bishop Verot pushed their record up to 21-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Port Charlotte, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.
