Baseball Recap: Plainview Comes Up Short

Plainview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fort Payne Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 last Thursday.

Plainview saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cy Traylor, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. That's the most stolen bases Traylor has posted since back in April of 2024.

Plainview's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Fort Payne, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Plainview will challenge Sylvania at 11:00 a.m. on March 8th. We've got a battle between Wildcats coming up.
