Volleyball Recap: Redwood Giants vs. Monta Vista Matadors

Redwood and Monta Vista squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Redwood had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Matadors by a score of 3-2. If the Giants were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Matadors when the teams met back in March of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Redwood took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 16-25, 25-16, 22-25, 25-22, 15-12.

Despite the loss, Redwood still got an impressive performance from Beckett Shewey, who hit 80.9% for 40 kills and five blocks and two aces. Shewey has been hot for a while, having posted six or more kills the last 24 times he's played.
