Basketball Recap: Glencoe Takes a Loss

Glencoe was the 59-30 winner over Century when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Glencoe Crimson Tide fell 55-42 to the Century Jaguars on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Crimson Tide can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 179th, while the Jaguars are ranked 44th).

Century's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mia Brownson, who posted 12 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Ervin, who went 5 for 7 en route to 10 points and seven boards.

Glencoe has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season. As for Century, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Glencoe didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 47-28 defeat against Sherwood on the 7th. As for Century, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 74-65 victory against Forest Grove on the 7th.
