Basketball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Belen Jesuit's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

On Saturday, the Belen Jesuit Wolverines were able to grind out a solid victory over the Somerset Academy Panthers, taking the game 66-58. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolverines.

Belen Jesuit found their leader in sophomore Orlando Roche, who went 8 of 16 en route to 24 points and six rebounds. That's the most boards Roche has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Nicholas Misiunas, who posted ten points.

Jayden Alcine and Mekhi Hudson-Dillard certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Alcine went 6 for 9 on his way to 14 points, while Hudson-Dillard had ten points. Coreem Hollingshead was another key player, putting up five points.

Belen Jesuit has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Somerset Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-7.

Belen Jesuit wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 61-40 loss against Miami on the 14th. Somerset Academy has also already played their next game, a 90-54 win against Carol City on the 14th.
