Baseball Recap: Salem Comes Up Short

Salem was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bayside Marlins. The Sundevils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Marlins apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Salem saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michael Espree, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

Salem's record is now 3-13. As for Bayside, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-7 record.

Coming up, Salem will take on Princess Anne at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Sundevils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cavaliers have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Bayside, they are taking a road trip to square off against Tallwood at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Marlins' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
