Basketball Game Preview: East Duplin Panthers vs. Wallace-Rose Hill Bulldogs

East Duplin is 8-2 against Wallace-Rose Hill since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The East Duplin Panthers will venture away from home to square off against the Wallace-Rose Hill Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. East Duplin is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

Last Tuesday, East Duplin really took it to South Lenoir for the full four quarters, racking up a 53-20 win. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead East Duplin to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jamyah Pickett, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 boards. Pickett is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Zakoya Farrior, who went 6 of 14 en route to 14 points and six rebounds.

East Duplin smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 32 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Meanwhile, Wallace-Rose Hill was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 41-35 to Kinston. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now lost seven in a row.

East Duplin's victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 25.8 points. As for Wallace-Rose Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.

East Duplin took their win against Wallace-Rose Hill when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 60-35. In that matchup, East Duplin amassed a halftime lead of 39-13, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
