Juan Torres posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Friday. He struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk), good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

Torres' strong effort led Cass Tech over Southeastern and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
