Volleyball Recap: Euclid Comes Up Short

Euclid was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Brunswick Blue Devils. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 last Monday.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Euclid sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-23, 23-25, 25-20, 21-25, 18-16.

Euclid's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Brunswick, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Euclid will challenge rival Mentor at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Brunswick is set to take on their familiar foe Strongsville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Blue Devils have won five straight at home, while the Mustangs won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
