While Hickory's victory against Hibriten wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tornadoes had just enough and edged out the Panthers 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tornadoes have posted against the Panthers since April 27, 2017.

Hickory is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Hibriten, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-9.

Coming up, Hickory will face off against Alexander Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars' pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so the Tornadoes' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Hibriten, they will take on Maiden in a tournament on Tuesday.
