Volleyball Recap: Orleans Starts Season with Win on the Road

Orleans had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They had just enough and edged out the Bloomfield Cardinals 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now won three in a row.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Orleans who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-27, 25-20, 16-25, 15-10.

Meredith Lantis went supernova, getting 26 digs and two aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in August of 2024. Emma Rutherford was another key player, getting 20 assists and seven digs.

Orleans has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Clarksville on the 18th. As for Bloomfield, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-2 defeat against North Daviess on the 21st.
