The Nathan Hale Raiders are taking a road trip to challenge the Chief Sealth Seahawks at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Nathan Hale will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
On Wednesday, Nathan Hale needed a bit of extra time to put away Garfield. They won by a run and slipped past the Bulldogs 5-4.
The team relied heavily on Finn Leach, who scored a run while going 4-for-5. Eliot Jennings also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Nathan Hale was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Garfield only posted a batting average of .192.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last match, Chief Sealth made sure to put some runs up on the board against Franklin on Friday. The Seahawks' pitchers stepped up to hand the Quakers a 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Seahawks, who have now won eight games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Seth Clark was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. He has become a key player for Chief Sealth: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Marko Woelfle was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Chief Sealth has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Nathan Hale, they pushed their record up to 5-2-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Nathan Hale has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Chief Sealth struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Nathan Hale beat Chief Sealth 7-2 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Do the Raiders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Seahawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
