Baseball Game Preview: Mora Rangers/Rangerettes vs. McCurdy Bobcats

Mora is 1-9 against McCurdy since March of 2023 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Rangers/Rangerettes will be playing at home against the Bobcats at 3:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Mora is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 17-6 margin over Penasco on Wednesday. The Rangers/Rangerettes haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, McCurdy came tearing into Friday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Wildcats 13-3. That's two games straight that the Bobcats have won by exactly ten runs.

McCurdy let Carlos Garcia and Celestino Salazar-Archuleta run wild. Garcia went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Salazar-Archuleta scored four runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. McCurdy is 8-1 when Salazar-Archuleta posts two or more runs, but 1-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jeremaya Roybal, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

They weren't the only one making solid contact: McCurdy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive matches.

McCurdy pushed their record up to 9-4 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Mora, their win bumped their record up to 2-6.
