Football Recap: Landen Agee's Big Game Can't Quite Lead North Lincoln over Maiden

North Lincoln lost against Maiden back in March of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Knights took a 54-36 bruising from the Blue Devils. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (35), the Knights still had to take the loss.

North Lincoln lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Landen Agee, who rushed for 146 yards and one TD while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. Agee is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 142 every time he's taken the field this season. Anthony Elberti was in the mix as well, providing North Lincoln with two scores.

Grant Lawing had an outrageously good game for Maiden as he threw for 243 yards and four touchdowns while completing 84.6% of his passes, and also rushed for 87 yards and one TD on only six carries. Those 87 rushing yards gave Lawing a new career-high. Shannon Wingate was another key player, rushing for 114 yards and a pair of scores.

North Lincoln now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Maiden, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

North Lincoln wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 19-0 defeat against West Iredell on the 12th. As for Maiden, they have also already played their next contest, a 49-0 victory against Bunker Hill on the 12th.
