Basketball Recap: Heritage Christian Athletics Comes Up Short

Heritage Christian Athletics saw some tournament action on Tuesday. They were outmatched by the South Wake Sabres and fell 61-21. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 1118th in Texas, while the Sabres are ranked 31st in North Carolina).

Savannah Taylor continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for South Wake, shooting 67% from the field to rack up 15 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Rebekah Hartzell, who went 5-for-11 en route to 11 points and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Heritage Christian Athletics and nudges their season record down to 9-21. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 18-10 Loudoun County HomeSchool (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 79.2% over those games). As for South Wake, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 32-2.

Heritage Christian Athletics has already played their next game (against Coastal HomeSchool), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for South Wake, they have already played their next contest, a 57-23 victory against Loudoun County HomeSchool on the 5th.
