Basketball Recap: Makenzie Kinard Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Woodruff

Boiling Springs lost to Woodruff back in November, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Boiling Springs Bulldogs took down the Woodruff Wolverines 46-32. The Bulldogs didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this win makes it their second in a row.

Boiling Springs' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Makenzie Kinard, who posted 18 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Kinard is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Karina Tsisun, who had five points along with 11 boards and four blocks.

Boiling Springs smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Several Wolverines players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jordan Robinson, who put up eight points. Kara West was another key player, putting up five points.

Boiling Springs' record is now 4-8. As for Woodruff, their loss dropped their record down to 11-3.

Boiling Springs is taking a road trip to face off against Christ Church Episcopal at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Boiling Springs has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Woodruff, they will welcome Greenville H at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
