Soccer Game Preview: Sterling vs. Weld Central

The Sterling Tigers will challenge the Weld Central Rebels at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Sterling came up short against Longmont on Tuesday, falling 8-1. The loss continues a trend for Sterling in their meetings with Longmont: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, Weld Central was not quite Bennett's equal in the second half on Monday. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-1.

Weld Central's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Sterling, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Sterling beat Weld Central by a goal when the teams last played back in April of 2025, winning 1-0. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Rebels have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
