Basketball Recap: Edinburgh Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Edinburgh lost to Knightstown back in January of 2016, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Edinburgh Lancers managed a 57-52 victory over the Knightstown Panthers.

Knightstown's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Derius Moore, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 12 points and six rebounds. Those 12 points gave Moore a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Mefford, who posted eight points and three steals.

Edinburgh's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-8. As for Knightstown, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-7.

Edinburgh will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Greenwood Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 14th. As for Knightstown, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 60-51 defeat against Tri on the 9th.
