Basketball Recap: California Skates Past Leland with Ease

California not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since December 5, 2024 (when they won 61-25). They breezed past the Leland Chargers to the tune of 71-37. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Grizzlies.

It was another big night for Brayde Kuykendall, who almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine boards. His evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Jaiden Jones, who posted 15 points.

Despite the defeat, Leland had strong showings from Eric John-Wong, who earned seven points, and Steven Watson, who scored nine points. Cyrus Zhao was another key player, putting up six points.

California now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Leland, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-2 record.

California wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 72-51 win against Evergreen Valley on the 11th. As for Leland, they will face off against Menlo School at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Chargers will need to watch out since the Knights have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
