Baseball Recap: West Port Comes Up Short

If West Port was riding high fresh off their 26-7 takedown of Cedar Key on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wolf Pack came up short against the Lake Weir Hurricanes on Friday, falling 14-2. The Wolf Pack have struggled against the Hurricanes recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Ahmari Dixon was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Vincent Santos also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

West Port's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Lake Weir, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-13.

Looking ahead, West Port will welcome Belleview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lake Weir, they will square off against Forest at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
