Baseball Recap: St. Francis Comes Up Short

St. Francis had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 1-4 to make it seven. They fell just short of the St. John's Northwestern Military Academy Lancers by a score of 3-2. The Mariners were not able to make up for their defeat to the Lancers from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

As for St. John's Northwestern Military Academy, the victory got them back to even at 4-4. That's two games straight that they have won by just one run.

For St. John's Northwestern Military Academy's part, Matthias Ericksen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits and racked up 12 Ks. Ericksen has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Brady Lettenberger was excellent, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: St. John's Northwestern Military Academy beat St. Francis by a score of 8-2 on Thursday.
