Softball Recap: Mariemont's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Reading, Mariemont was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Northwest Knights with a sharp 10-4 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Warriors as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Peyton Quiambo, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Jecelyn McDulin also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Mariemont was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-8. As for Northwest, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Coming up, Mariemont will square off against Reading at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blue Devils have averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season. As for Northwest, they will host New Miami at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
