Baseball Recap: Upstate Takes a Loss

Upstate was the 9-8 winner over Spartanburg Day when they last played one another last Thursday, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Griffins on Tuesday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Charlton Strange and Caleb Hernandez did some serious damage despite the final result: Strange scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2, while Hernandez scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Upstate's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Spartanburg Day, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.

Upstate didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 21-2 defeat against Greenville H on the 8th. As for Spartanburg Day, they have also already played their next game, a 6-3 loss against Spartanburg Christian Academy on the 3rd.
