Softball Recap: Leonardtown Gets the Win

Leonardtown put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Chesapeake Cougars 1-0.

The result came thanks to Claire Radford's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Leonardtown saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Vanessa Brooks, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

Leonardtown's record is now 10-1. As for Chesapeake, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.

Coming up, Leonardtown will be taking part in a tournament against Archbishop Spalding at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Chesapeake, they will venture away from home to face off against North County at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
