Football Game Preview: Carlynton Cougars vs. Waynesburg Central Raiders + How To Watch

The Carlynton Cougars will face off against the Waynesburg Central Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Carlynton and three for Waynesburg Central.

Carlynton's last matchup with Keystone Oaks could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Friday. The Cougars came up short against the Golden Eagles, falling 42-18. The Cougars were down 42-6 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Meanwhile, Waynesburg Central played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 41-14 loss at the hands of Seton LaSalle. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 317th, while the Rebels are ranked 136th).

Carlynton will have to contain Teagen Crouse as he made an impact in Waynesburg Central's last game. He rushed for 113 yards and a pair of TDs on only eight carries, and also threw for 105 yards on ten of 18 attempts. Crouse got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 76 yards.

Waynesburg Central's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Carlynton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Carlynton and Waynesburg Central were almost perfectly matched up when the teams last played back in October of 2024, but Carlynton suffered an agonizing 27-26 loss.
