Softball Game Preview: Needles Mustangs vs. Williams Vikings

The Needles Mustangs will square off against the Williams Vikings at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Needles fell victim to Pahrump Valley and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Mustangs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Williams didn't have quite enough to beat Holbrook on Monday and fell 6-5.

Audrina Baldwin made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenzie Orozco, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Needles' loss ended an 11-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-7. As for Williams, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Needles got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Williams by a conclusive 15-3 score. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
