Sioux City West had won three straight at home, but on Thursday they bumped their record up to 7-15 to make it four. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Jefferson Yellowjackets. This was a revenge game for the Wolverines: when they faced off against the Yellowjackets back in June, they had to take a 7-0 loss.

As for Jefferson, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-27 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games.

For Jefferson's part, Aiden Moore got Jefferson off to a strong start despite the final result, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Moore has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Nate Anderson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
