Baseball Game Preview: Lewiston-Porter Lancers vs. Lockport Lions

Lewiston-Porter is 2-8 against Lockport since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Lancers will face off against the Lions at 5:00 p.m. Lewiston-Porter has given up an average of 11.8 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Things were looking good for Lewiston-Porter after they put the first run on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 27-4 to Niagara Falls.

Meanwhile, Lockport is still undefeated this season after their game against Kenmore East on Monday, but Kenmore East came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Lions came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 8-7 W against the Bulldogs. The game was the first time the Lions have beaten the Bulldogs on their field since May 6, 2022.

Lockport pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Lewiston-Porter, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Lewiston-Porter might still be hurting after the 15-1 defeat they got from Lockport in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Lancers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
