Basketball Recap: King Comes Up Short

King entered their game against Atascocita on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The King Panthers were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 54-53 to the Atascocita Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 52-40 back in January.

King's defeat dropped their record down to 20-9. As for Atascocita, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 25-4.

King and Atascocita should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. King will face off against Goose Creek Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday up 537 places (46 vs. 583). King will be looking to keep their 12-game home win streak dating back to last season alive. Meanwhile, Atascocita (ranked 18th) will meet Summer Creek (ranked 62nd) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
