Softball Recap: New London Picks Up Eighth Straight Win at Home

New London lost to Black River back in May of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. New London sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 14-13 victory over Black River. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Madison Rowland and Gracie Thomas did most of the damage at the plate: Rowland scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4, while Thomas scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most stolen bases Rowland has posted since back in April of 2024. Pailee Wilson was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

New London's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Coming up, New London will square off against Norwalk at 5:00 p.m. on April 3. As for Black River, they will head out on the road to square off against Norwayne at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
