Volleyball Game Preview: Chaparral Pumas vs. Great Oak Wolfpack

The Chaparral Pumas will venture away from home to challenge the Great Oak Wolfpack at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Great Oak will be up against a hot Chaparral team: the squad just extended their winning streak to five. Chaparral came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against Hillcrest.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Chaparral who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-19, 18-25, 15-10.

Meanwhile, Great Oak hadn't done well against Vista Murrieta recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Great Oak sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Vista Murrieta. The victory was familiar territory for the Wolfpack, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Great Oak took Vista Murrieta into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-21, 27-29, 25-19, 17-15.

Great Oak's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-3. As for Chaparral, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.
