Baseball Recap: Austin Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Austin came into Tuesday's contest having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Sharpstown Apollos a 15-0 shutout on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Mustangs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Josh Leal looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Austin is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 4-14 otherwise.

Austin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .700. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Austin's victory bumped their record up to 6-15. As for Sharpstown, their loss dropped their record down to 0-15.

Austin will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Apollos: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
