Baseball Recap: Westfield Takes a Loss

Westfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 12-7 to the Spring Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-4 on Tuesday.

Austin Edwards made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits.

Westfield's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Spring, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-8.

Looking ahead, Westfield will face off against Dekaney at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Westfield has given up an average of 7.7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Spring, they will challenge Benjamin Davis at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
