Rocklin's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Monday. Everything went their way against the Roseville Tigers as the Rocklin Thunder made off with a 10-0 victory. Fans of the Thunder have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Payton Prior was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single hit, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Rocklin let Katie Wetteland and Maddie Williams run wild. Wetteland went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Williams scored three runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Williams a new career-high in doubles (two). Savannah Lorenzini was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.
Rocklin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Roseville only posted an OBP of .111.
Rocklin's record now sits at 3-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rocklin will take on Vista del Lago at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Roseville, they will face off against Lincoln at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
