Soccer Game Preview: Waynesville vs. Carroll + How To Watch

The Waynesville Spartans will square off against the Carroll Patriots at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday. Carroll took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Waynesville, who comes in off a win.

Waynesville is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Their defense stepped up to hand Carlisle a 9-0 shutout on Thursday. The win was some much needed relief for Waynesville as it spelled an end to their five-match losing streak.

Meanwhile, Carroll managed to keep up with Archbishop Alter until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Patriots lost 4-0 to the Knights. While losing is never fun, Carroll can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 149th, while Archbishop Alter are ranked 24th).

Carroll has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7-2 record this season. As for Waynesville, their victory bumped their record up to 5-9-1.
