Basketball Game Preview: Fennimore Golden Eagles vs. Southwestern Wildcats

Fennimore is on a seven-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, Southwestern a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Monday. The Fennimore Golden Eagles will host the Southwestern Wildcats at 7:30 p.m.

Last Thursday, Fennimore had to suffer through a 69-23 loss at the hands of Cuba City. While losing is never fun, the Golden Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 320th, while the Cubans are ranked 32nd).

Meanwhile, Southwestern had to endure a ten-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They snuck past Boscobel with a 49-43 victory on Thursday.

Fennimore's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Southwestern, their win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-13.

Fennimore strolled past Southwestern when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a score of 58-41. Will Fennimore repeat their success, or does Southwestern have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
