Football Recap: Bayshore Christian Takes a Loss

Bayshore Christian fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Keswick Christian on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They and the Crusaders were almost perfectly matched up, but they suffered a 21-20 defeat. While losing is never fun, the Faith Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 274th, while the Crusaders are ranked 125th).

Bayshore Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Natalia Garcia, who threw for 158 yards and three touchdowns. Bayshore Christian's leading receiver Rylan White was Garcia's top target yet again, picking up 63 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Bayshore Christian's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-5. As for Keswick Christian, they pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Bayshore Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Keswick Christian, they will host Indian Rocks Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Crusaders 14.2, the Eagles 14.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
