Recap: Liberty Christian Academy Knights vs. Christ the Cornerstone Academy Defenders
It was a good run, but the Liberty Christian Academy Knights unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 56-31 walloping at the hands of Christ the Cornerstone Academy. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Liberty Christian Academy in their matchups with Christ the Cornerstone Academy: they've now lost nine in a row.
Despite the loss, Liberty Christian Academy had strong showings from DJ Cuffee, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals, and Tanner Kuykendall, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. That was a full 45.2% of Liberty Christian Academy's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Christ the Cornerstone Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was WILL JEFFCOAT, who scored 14 points. JEFFCOAT continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of MICAH WYCKOFF, who scored eight points.
Liberty Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Christ the Cornerstone Academy, their win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-4.
Liberty Christian Academy will head out on the road to challenge Temple Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Liberty Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday. Christ the Cornerstone Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
