Volleyball Recap: Howell Comes Up Short

Howell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Lafayette Lancers. The Vikings were not able to make up for their loss to the Lancers from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

While Howell ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-21, 25-21.

Remy Walkowiak paced Howell's offense, picking up 12 kills. Walkowiak got some help from Thomas Thoman and his 25 assists. Walkowiak was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

Among those leading the charge was Nate Kraemer, who had three digs and two aces.

Howell now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Lafayette, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Howell will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Timberland at 5:00 p.m. As for Lafayette, they have already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Eureka on the 8th.
