Baseball Recap: Four Straight Road Victories for Belle Plaine

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Belle Plaine). They blew past the Tri-City United [Montgomery-Lonsdale/Le Center] Titans 11-2 on Thursday. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Waylon Friendshuh made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other pitching news, Riley Clements looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Back at the plate, Belle Plaine got a massive performance out of Bennet Balk, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Brayden Grant was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 7.8 runs this season.
