Volleyball Recap: Valley View Cougars vs. Dunmore Bucks

Valley View had lost seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped down to 2-6 to make it eight. They lost 3-0 to the Dunmore Bucks. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Bucks when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Valley View still got an impressive performance from Layla Marino, who had 12 digs, five kills, and three aces. Marino is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served three or more in each of the last four games she's played. Monica Orellana was another key player, getting 11 digs.

As for Dunmore, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4-1. They not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since September 18th (when they won 3-0).

Dunmore found their leader in sophomore Elena Piepoli, who had 19 digs. Those 19 digs set a new season-high mark for Piepoli.

Valley View wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Lackawanna Trail on the 24th. As for Dunmore, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Mountain View at 5:00 p.m.
