Softball Game Preview: Riverside Prep Silver Knights vs. Excelsior Charter Eagles

For the second straight game, Riverside Prep will face off against Excelsior Charter. The Silver Knights will take on the Eagles at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Riverside Prep is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

On Tuesday, Riverside Prep earned a 9-4 victory over Excelsior Charter.

Bree Garcia was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

In other batting news, Denise Hernandez was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two triples, two RBI, and one run. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Isabelle Obregon was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Riverside Prep's win bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Excelsior Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-9-1.

Excelsior Charter's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Riverside Prep has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10 hits per game.
