Softball Recap: Caruthers Victorious

Caruthers's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They never let the Tranquillity Tigers get on the board and left with a 20-0 win. Considering the Blue Raiders' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Caruthers got a massive performance out of Emmi Almeida, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. Mia Garcia was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base.

The victory got Caruthers back to even at 8-8. As for Tranquillity, they dropped their record down to 2-13-1 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Caruthers will challenge Parlier at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.12 runs per game on average), something the Blue Raiders will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Tranquillity, they have already played their next matchup, a 36-7 loss against Avenal on the 24th.
