Volleyball Recap: North Central Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Amree Vandervorst and Camryn Witlock

After flying high against Timber Lake on Thursday, North Central came back down to earth. The Thunder came up short against the Ipswich Tigers on Monday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Thunder have suffered against the Tigers since October 25, 2022.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 29-27, 26-24, 25-14.

Despite the defeat, North Central had strong showings from Camryn Witlock, who had ten assists and eight digs, and Amree VanderVorst, who had 12 digs and nine kills. VanderVorst is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last 50 games she's played dating back to last season.

The loss snapped North Central's winning streak at four matches and leaves them with a 14-7 record. As for Ipswich, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3.

Looking ahead, North Central will host Leola/Frederick at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ipswich, they will head out on the road to face off against Gettysburg at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
