Basketball Recap: Garrett's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Garrett came into Tuesday's contest having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They strolled past the Churubusco Eagles with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 45-29. That's more bragging rights for the Railroaders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Eryn Savieo and Patty Wiggs certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Savieo posted six points, while Wiggs put up four points in addition to five boards and three steals. Wiggs is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played.

Garrett's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 3-7. As for Churubusco, they dropped their record down to 3-9 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.

Garrett wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 53-31 loss against Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran on the 19th. As for Churubusco, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 52-40 win against Prairie Heights on the 20th.
