Softball Recap: Kent Place Comes Up Short

If Kent Place was feeling good fresh off their 15-0 takedown of Linden on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Dragons came up short against the Scotch Plains-Fanwood Raiders on Saturday, falling 9-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Dragons of the 15-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2022.

Kent Place's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Scotch Plains-Fanwood, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-6 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kent Place will square off against Veritas Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Scotch Plains-Fanwood, they will face off against South Plainfield at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Raiders 3.1, the Tigers 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
